Pregnancy and Birthing

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

This is an exciting time with much to learn, prepare for and enjoy.
GPs may be a first point of contact for someone pregnant, however, remember that they, as well as many other medical professionals, do not have any (or little) training in optimal pregnancy, normal birthing, gentle birthing or post birth support such as breastfeeding etc. If you desire to have a normal birth (gentle birth, home birth, calm birth, vaginal birth etc with little or no medical intervention) please ensure you consult relevant professionals who are specifically trained in these areas. (e.g. independent midwives, doulas, lactation consultants etc.)
You may also wish to look at our Health & Nutrition page for optimising your health (and your baby's) during pregnancy and following. I hope you find the following useful in your journey as an expecting parent.

We have created an Information Kit containing over 15 articles and heaps of resources, contacts and references – where possible these are local to Adelaide. This document is a great starting point for new parents or those wishing to learn a little more about natural / attachment parenting. Download it here. Information Kit
